There are several different ways of acquiring licenses:

Full Packege Product (FPP) - license, media and documentation are packaged in a colorful box, sold in retail stores. Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) - the software license for sale with a new computer equipment. Licensing programs for organizations. †

The most popular are FPP and OEM packs, the software download of which, you can also find at some reliable and certified online sellers. †

To purchase a small (up to five) numbers of products, it is easier to buy a box of software. Boxes are available for both: individual users and organizations. The box contains the license agreement, certificate of authenticity, a registration card with the software distribution and, as a rule, the documentation in printed form. Boxes are sold in stores, as well as Microsoft partners. †

Microsoft software can be supplied with your computer in the form of pre-installed version. Such new versions of products are intended for delivery along with the hardware, called OEM- versions of products. †

But, not all software products of Microsoft are available as OEM-versions. Most often it is Windows XP, Office 2003 and Windows Server 2003. †

Separately, it should be noted that for Windows XP, OEM- versions are virtually the only cost-effective way to acquire the full versions of desktop operating systems, because licensing supply doesnít have the full versions and the full boxed version obviously have a higher price. †

Unlike packaged products with colorful packaging, designed to be placed on the shelves, OEM- versions have the technological package - brown cardboard. Within packaging technology, depending on the product and delivery options, it may contain 1 or 3 separate OEM- software licenses. †

OEM version of the product, as a rule, includes a certificate of authenticity (COA) , the distribution with the product license agreement with the end user (EULA, may be submitted only in electronic form). When selling, all these components should be transferred to the client. †

OEM- version software is specifically designed for OEMs / manufacturers of personal computers and servers. They are not intended for distribution to end users separately from computer. †
